TruSculpt

TruSculpt is a line of non-invasive body contouring devices from leading international aesthetics company Cutera.

Feeling confident in your appearance as you age extends beyond smoothing wrinkles and preserving glowing skin: although changes in your face may be the most apparent, your body is also going through the aging process. As hormone production shifts past your teens and twenties, you’ll notice that it becomes more difficult for you to maintain a stable weight and physique.

It can be discouraging and frustrating to watch your body change shape in the mirror despite your best efforts. New pockets of stubborn fat appear and refuse to budge, while once-sculpted abs seem to look softer every day. You might feel as though your favorite clothes don’t fit the same way; you may start to feel self-conscious in fitted shirts or revealing swimsuits.

Fortunately, modern aesthetics technology has provided a solution in the form of non-invasive body contouring. Options like TruSculpt, CoolSculpting, SculpSure and more provide thousands of men and women with a way to safely and quickly target stubborn fat or enhance muscle definition. At Levitt Medical Aesthetics, we offer TruSculpt iD and TruSculpt Flex to help clients in the Corvallis and Albany, Oregon area achieve a slim, toned and healthy physique at all stages of life.

What is TruSculpt?

TruSculpt is the most advanced, safest, most comfortable, and most effective device on the market. The “non invasive” treatment means TruSculpt:

  • Is completely non-surgical
  • Does not require anesthesia, incisions or sutures
  • Does not break the skin surface
  • Does not require significant recovery time

Instead, our TruSculpt devices use pulses of radiofrequency and electrical energy to target fat cells or stimulate muscle contractions. The body then adapts to the treatments and responds with natural processes that eliminate fat or build muscle mass. This approach has several benefits, including:

  • Quick treatment sessions (as short as 15 minutes)
  • No time off from work or usual activities
  • Results that continue to improve over the months following treatment

Our TruSculpt iD and TruSculpt Flex devices are cleared for their intended uses by the FDA, and produce measurable results backed by independent clinical studies.

TruSculpt iD

TruSculpt iD is one of the latest non-invasive body sculpting options to emerge from TruSculpt’s creator, Cutera. TruSculpt iD boasts a larger treatment area, more customizability and more convenience. Some highlights of this treatment include:

  • Average of 24% reduction in body fat
  • Treat the arms, legs, abdomen, flanks, and neck
  • Real-time temperature control for comfort during treatment
  • Clinically proven results
  • Treat multiple areas in a single 15-minute treatment
  • Unlike any other option on the market, TruSculpt also provides skin tightening

The device uses patented technology that sends waves of radiofrequency energy into the layer of fat between your skin and muscles — TruSculpt iD uses specialized technology that penetrates the entire fat layer for maximum fat reduction.

The radiofrequency energy emitted by the device heats targeted fat cells until they sustain irreparable damage. After a TruSculpt iD treatment, your body recognizes the damaged cells as waste materials and eliminates them. Unwanted pockets of fat gradually become smaller, flatter and ideally contoured for your body type. Results will be noticeable six weeks after treatment and will continue to improve over the course of 6-12 weeks after each TruSculpt iD session.

TruSculpt Flex

TruSculpt Flex is part of a new section of the non-invasive body contouring market. This type of device focuses on building muscle tone instead of eliminating body fat. It is ideal for clients who are in good shape but are struggling to get well-defined muscles in the abs, buttocks and thighs. Key benefits of TruSculpt Flex include:

  • Visibly defined muscles in the treated area
  • Attachments for multiple areas — abs, buttocks and thighs
  • Improved muscle tone
  • Improved buttock shape (sometimes called a “non-surgical butt lift”)
  • Detail-oriented body sculpting beyond reducing fat

TruSculpt Flex uses electrical muscle stimulation technology to deliver pulses that signal your muscles to contract. The electrical pulses are body-safe and low-intensity and can trigger a variety of deep muscle movements. The device has three settings:

  • Prep Mode for warming up
  • Tone Mode for improving muscle endurance
  • Sculpt Mode for building muscle mass

Each treatment session can be fully customized according to your aesthetic goals. Treatments are comfortable — you’ll be able to feel your muscles contracting and you will have some muscle soreness afterward, but you will not need any anesthesia or recovery time. TruSculpt Flex can also be combined with TruSculpt iD for excellent slimming and toning results.

TruSculpt iD vs. CoolSculpting

CoolSculpting was one of the first non-invasive body contouring devices and has become a household name among aesthetics enthusiasts. It’s a common question to wonder how other body contouring devices compare to the original option. Although CoolSculpting has consistently offered good results for the past few years, new technologies have begun to surpass it not only in effectiveness but also in patient safety and comfort. Here are some key differences that led us to choose TruSculpt over CoolSculpting for our patients’ body contouring needs:

TruSculpt iD

  • Shorter treatment time (15 mins, multiple areas)
  • Customizable handpieces
  • Radiofrequency approach also offers skin tightening
  • Comfortable treatments (patients describe TruSculpt like a hot stone massage)
  • No downtime
  • Low risk of any side effects
  • No BMI minimum or maximum

CoolSculpting

  • Longer treatment time (35 mins per area; minimum 1.5 hours)
  • Applicator only fits certain body types
  • Cryolipolysis focuses on fat reduction only
  • Potentially painful treatment (common sensations of pinching, pulling and intense cold)
  • Downtime required for some patients
  • Common side effects including bruising and neuropathy

Beyond these experiential differences, the main difference between these two options lies in the technology that each device uses to accomplish the goal of body fat reduction.

CoolSculpting uses an approach called cryolipolysis, which utilizes freezing temperatures to damage fat cells. Cryolipolysis requires the CoolSculpting device to use a suction motion that isolates areas of fat cells to more effectively apply freezing temperatures. This aspect of the treatment is frequently reported to be uncomfortable and can leave behind visible bruising. Some CoolSculpting clients also find that their fat reduction is uneven due to the device freezing only one suctioned area at a time.

The TruSculpt iD device uses radiofrequency energy to heat fat cells instead of freezing them. With TruSculpt iD, the handpiece is placed on top of the skin and moved over the area of unwanted fat in a smooth gliding motion. Clients only feel a slight warming sensation and are unlikely to experience any lingering discomfort or visible side effects, though some redness or tenderness is common for up to 48 hours after treatment. Radiofrequency also offers skin-tightening benefits.
