Advanced non-invasive skin tightening technology
Skin laxity may be a natural part of the aging process, but it can prove to be problematic on a variety of levels.
Loose skin around the face and neck can make you look older than you feel and affect your self-confidence in your appearance. Loose skin on the body, which is common after weight loss or as a result of aging, can affect how you look as well as how your clothes fit.
Whether you are noticing the early development of jowls along the jawline or “bat wings” underneath the upper arms, there is a nonsurgical solution that can ward off those changes and help you maintain your youthful appearance for longer. At Levitt Medical Aesthetics, we now offer SkinTyte for our patients with these types of concerns, providing an option in skin tightening that doesn’t involve discomfort or require downtime.

How it works
SkinTyte is a revolutionary technology that works deep into the dermal structure to restructure collagen for results that are both natural and long-lasting.
The secret behind SkinTyte’s effectiveness is controlled infrared energy, which heats the underlying tissue without damaging the outer dermis. The heating process causes the soft tissue to coagulate, leading to tightening and firming from the inside out. We can use the treatment on nearly any area of the face or body where loose skin is a problem.
SkinTyte treatments are quick and comfortable, and you don’t need to worry about scheduling downtime after your procedure. Topical numbing or anesthesia isn’t necessary before the procedures, and in most cases, you are in and out of our office in 30 minutes or less.
Results develop over time, and most patients find a series of sessions at the outset to produce an optimal outcome.
What to expect
As soon as your SkinTyte session is over, you should be able to apply makeup and return to your regular activities.
Sunscreen is also essential immediately following your procedure and daily since treated skin will be especially vulnerable to damage while it is healing. The skin may be slightly red or tender after the process, but these side effects are generally minimal and subside within a matter of hours. There are no special instructions after your treatment, other than religious sunscreen use.
While you may notice some initial tightening after your SkinTyte appointment, those results will continue to improve in the months following your treatment as the underlying tissue coagulates and restructures itself.
In most cases, you will need a series of treatment sessions to achieve optimal results. Depending on the level of correction you want, anywhere from three to six appointments spaced about three weeks apart will be advised. Dr. Levitt and his team will evaluate you at your initial consultation to determine how many treatments you might need to give you the best possible results.
The duration of your results will depend on a variety of factors, including the quality of skincare formulations you use at home and your use of sunscreen.
Over time, you may see some laxity develop once again, and at that time you can schedule another treatment session to maintain your rejuvenated look. Other treatments may also be added to your regimen to help you keep your youthful appearance and ward off the telltale signs of aging.

FAQ
SkinTyte is appropriate for any skin type and tone. We recommend it for patients that require more correction than a topical product can provide but are not ready for surgery. The primary goal of SkinTyte is to rejuvenate and refresh the appearance of the skin. If you have significant skin laxity, Dr. Levitt may recommend a surgical procedure to ensure your expectations are sufficiently met. While there are few contraindications for SkinTyte, we do not recommend the procedure for patients with some autoimmune diseases, connective tissue disorders, or those that are pregnant. If your skin is sun-tanned, it is best to wait until the color fades before undergoing this treatment to ensure the best possible results.
You won’t need any anesthetic before your SkinTyte procedure in most cases, but we will give you special goggles that will protect your eyes from the light used during treatment. If your pain tolerance is low or if we perform the treatment on a sensitive area, topical numbing is available. A handpiece is used to deliver the light pulses, which will penetrate deep into the tissue without damaging the outer dermis. You might feel a snap as we administer the light, but the procedure should be very tolerable. Most SkinTyte procedures take 30 minutes or less to complete, depending on the size and number of areas to address. Sometimes, we may combine SkinTyte with additional cosmetic treatments, which could extend the time you are in our office. If we use topical numbing cream, it will require an extra 30 minutes to allow the medication time to take effect as well.
SkinTyte results are best when done in a series of 5 treatments approximately 3 to 4 weeks apart. You may not see visible results until after the second or third treatment. The full extent of improvement may take up to 4 months to see.
SkinTyte can be used anywhere on the body to reduce sagging and improve elasticity and skin tone. Our patients enjoy the many benefits of skin tightening on the face, chest, belly, hips, and any area exhibiting unwanted loose skin.
